Quality & DPR (q, dpr)

q selects a tier, not a number: eco, std (the default), or hi. Tiers keep the cache tight — three variants instead of a hundred — and encode our judgment about the codec so you don’t have to have any.

dpr:2 marks a render as targeting high-density screens. The pipeline serves double the pixels at a lower encode quality — dense screens hide compression artifacts, so the result looks identical and ships fewer bytes than a naive 2x. The numeric values per tier/DPR are in the grammar reference.
